ITS Oregon & WTS Announce Joint Luncheon Featuring Scott Belcher

ITS Oregon is pleased to announce a joint luncheon with the Portland Chapter of WTS featuring Scott Belcher, President & CEO of ITS America, on Tuesday, February 9 at the Governor Hotel in Portland.

Scott Belcher is President and CEO of Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America).   His presentation is entitled  “What’s Happening in Washington and How Smart Technology Can Help Address Our Transportation Crisis.”

Appointed President and CEO of ITS America in September 2007, Mr. Belcher brings 20 years of private and public sector experience to Washington, D.C. Prior to joining ITS America, Mr. Belcher served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at the National Academy of Public Adminstration (NAPA) in Washington, D.C.

2010 Northwest Transportation Conference

The Intelligent Transportation Society of America’s  (ITS America) 20th Annual Meeting & Exposition, “Connecting Communities through Smart Transportation Solutions,”  will be held from May 3-5, 2010 in Houston, TX.

ITS America’s 20th Annual Meeting program will focus on core issues that relate to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).   These core issues involve broadening awareness and implementation of best practices and effective solutions to solve transportation problems and performance, and the thought leadership engaged in the debate over the nation’s transportation future.

Successful NRITS Comes to a Close

The 2009 National Rural ITS Conference, held August 23-27 in Seaside, Oregon, has concluded.  Nearly 300 attendees enjoyed a wide variety of sessions, professional tours, activities, and the opportunity to visit over 35 vendor displays.

Presentation on Oregon’s Mileage Fee Pilot Program Now Available

On April 7, ITS Oregon hosted its fourth lunch meeting jointly with the Portland Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar and the Oregon Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.   Over 135 attendees listed to James Whitty of ODOT’s Office of Innovative Partnerships and Alternative Funding present the results of Oregon’s mileage fee pilot program.

Earn Valuable Professional Development Hours at ITS America’s 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition

ITS America is pleased to offer Professional Development Hours (PDHs) to attendees of ITS America’s 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition, June 1-3, 2009 in National Harbor, MD.  Many engineering and related licensure and certification agencies around the world require the demonstration of continuing professional competency that is met by the range of technical, scientific, executive, special, interactive, and plenary sessions you attend.  Attendees can earn up to 17.5 PDHs through their participation at the Annual Meeting.

Remember that you will need to save your record of attendance and the entire Final Program of the 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition for your records should the licensure or certification agency request information from you. Reporting is done on an honor basis, and members are responsible for maintaining their own records.

ITS Washington Announces Annual Meeting

October 6, 2008

ITS Washington announces the return of its Annual Meeting to be held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on November 12th.

There are a total of eight information packed sessions planned, with a diverse group of presenters and panel members from throughout the Puget Sound region and state. The focus of this year’s annual meeting will be
ITS applications and systems, and their influence on operations within the traffic and transit environments. Topics will include Traffic Management Centers – Lessons Learned, Regional Arterial Operations, Wireless Communications for ITS Applications, Transit ITS Applications on the horizon, Bus Rapid Transit Station and System Design, Tolling and Congestion Management, Traveler Information Systems, and Wired Communications for ITS Applications.
