Q: What is ITS?
A: Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) represent the next step in the evolution of our transportation system. ITS solutions result from the application of advances in electronics and communication technologies, and in Oregon these technologies have been successfully implemented in both rural and urban settings. ITS improves mobility, accessibility, the environment and our quality of life–saving lives, time and money.
Q: What is ITS Oregon?
A: ITS Oregon is the state chapter of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America). ITS Oregon is a volunteer organization whose members foster ITS deployment through partnership building, education and outreach.
Q: What types of memberships are available?
A: If your organization is an ITS America member, in good standing, membership dues can be waived under the ITS Partnership Program. If your organization is a member of ITS America, but has exhausted all of its free state chapter memberships, ITS Oregon has a corporate membership fee of $200 (annual dues) for your entire organization (whether or not your company is a member of ITS America or not). Annual dues for individual members are $75. If you are a full-time student, annual dues are just $5.
Q: When may I join?
A: Membership is based on the calendar year beginning January 1 and ending on December 31. Dues are collected in January. When joining mid-year, dues are pro-rated only in half-year increments.
Q: How do I join?
A: Simply fill out the ITS Oregon Membership Form and enclose a check made payable to “ITS Oregon”. Send this to the current Treasurer of the organization at the address listed on the “Contact Us” tab of our website.
Q: What are the benefits to joining ITS Oregon?
A: Special member rates for attendance at the Annual Meeting and Workshops throughout the year; voting rights in official ITS Oregon business; and entitles individual to hold an ITS Oregon board position.
